LURK HARD HISTORY

Lurk Hard is my love-child.
It is all my blood, sweat, tears, & cum.
Lots of time, money, love, and sacrifice (& fun) was put into it.
I don't know what I'd do if I ran out of all the ingredients listed above.

I don't even know how to get into the involvement of skateboarding in my life right now, but I'll try. Let's just say that everything I do now, everything I've ever done, everything I'm even interested in, is all because I got into skateboarding when I was like, 11. I moved to SF because of skateboarding! Well, not really. I moved to San Francisco for college and acquired all my pro lurking skills over there as well. I've always adored old footage of Embarcadero (the 7, stage, big & medium stage, lil 3 & big 3, c-block, fountain curb & fountain gap, + the gangster ass Gonz gap ETC). It's weird knowing that I used to live on Guam & the only time I'd see such places were in the videos or magazines. Same with seeing all your favorite skateboarders too. It's like, "DAMN NIQQA I USED TO SEE HIM IN MAGAZINES" then you realize we're just the same & that there's no reason to put anybody on a pedestal, for he is standing under the hot ass sun at some demo just like me. I go off on some crazy tangents sometimes, but point is: There's a special place in my heart for skateboarding. Even though I don't skate, I'm glad I'm doing something that involves skateboarding.

Geno & I started LURK HARD last year ('08). It all really started in 2006 when the name 'Lurk Hard' was officially coined for a little mock-up of skateboards, clothing, and accessories I had designed before I graduated from school. It wasn't official official until 2007 when Geno & I decided to take it to a whole other level. He told Rob (Mason) about it & he was down. From there on, it progresses into some other ass shit. Now we have a team assembly of some talented group of skateboarders who continue to amaze me not just with their sick styles, but with their remarkable personalities as well. We had our first ads run in Lowcard, a skateboard mag based out of San Francisco. (We also have some stuff you could purchase on our website: LURKHARD.COM) 2008 was a great year for us & I'm guessing that the harder we ~~work~~ lurk, the better it gets. With Lurk Hard I'd like to grow as an artist, designer, and (better) woman. I just want to continue doing what I love!

People always ask me what 'LURK' is.

My Pet Monster

My Pet Monster! I've had this thing for FOREVER now. You press his left hand & he says, "I am your monster friend!", "Let's wrestle!", "Ooo you're really strong too!", and it also makes this noise like a chains are breaking (he has chain-linked cuffs). I got to see him again when I went back home to visit & I was all KINDS of happy. Very reminiscent of all my carefree / fun years. Reality check! Time to do adult things now, like pay bills.
